The POM material mold is widely used in some wear-resistant parts.
POM material have corrosivity, absorbency is small, generally 0.2%-0.5%. Under normal conditions, POM can be processed without drying, but drying must be done for wet raw materials. The drying temperature is above 80℃, and the drying time is above 2 hours, which should be carried out according to the supplier's information. So we need to use S136 as POM mold steel.
Use sub-gate for the POM mold, the product surface will look nice. If we use other gate, such as use hot runner or cold runner directly, the surface mark is unbeauty, as the POM material flow is not well.
For the injection speed, we recommend to use middle speed. If the speed is slow, then the surface will have mark like ripple. If the speed is fast, it is easy have produce jet and shear overheating.
