How to shorten the mold cycle?

Hello my friends,This blog talks about the factors that influence the injection mold cycle time and how to shorten the cycle.
The injection mold cycle time refers to the time it takes the injection molding machine to work for one cycle.
The cycle process is: mold closing-injection-maintaining pressure-cooling-mold opening-ejector-mold closing.
Fast injection molding cycle time can increase production capacity and reduce production costs.

Three factors that affect the mold cycle time: mold, machine, and others
Mold
1. Mold cooling system
Uniform and sufficient cooling is required. Uneven cooling will cause the product surface to shrink. If the cooling is uneven, the cooling time will need to be lengthened, and the mold cycle time will also become longer.
2.Mold injection system
The plastic is injected evenly, and the obstruction from the runner to the gate is minimized during the flow process, thereby shortening the mold cycle time.
3. Mold guide system
The wear or noise caused to the steel material by the guide pillar, guide sleeve, core pull, slider, opening and closing of the mold will also affect the mold cycle time.
4. Mold ejection system
The machine automatically ejects, so that the ejection action can be completed when the mold is opened, shortening the mold cycle time.
Machine
1. Pre-molding speed: Affected by screw speed and maximum pre-molding weight; the greater the screw speed, the faster the feed speed; try to use the maximum pre-molding weight of the injection molding machine to shorten the pre-molding time.

2. Injection speed: affected by injection pressure and pushing speed
3. Mold opening and closing speed: affected by the frame and mold clamping mechanism
4. Ejection speed: affected by the diameter of the ejection rod

Use reasonable methods to reduce the cycle time of injection molds. Commonly used methods are: 

1.Use high-speed molding machines to reduce mold opening and closing time and injection time.
2.Use high-speed manipulators to reduce product removal time.
3.Use a large-flow mold temperature controller to reduce the cooling time.
4.Reasonably optimize molding parameters to reduce the time of each link in the injection molding cycle.
5.Optimize the mold water path and reduce the cooling time.
6.Use hot runner design to reduce the cooling time of the material head.
