Precision Manufacturing: The Balance, Plastics, and Steel in Automotive Fan Blade Molds

Inside the car engine compartment, the cooling fan is the "guardian" that maintains the engine's normal temperature. The core of fan performance lies in the precision manufacturing of each fan blade. Behind this, the three key elements of the fan blade mold—balance, plastics, and steel—determine the final success or failure.

Balance:High-speed rotating silent cornerstone
The balance of the fan blades is fundamental to ensuring their smooth, quiet and efficient operation. The mold bears the primary responsibility for this.
How to make the blade fan mold balance:
1. cavity and core need to be same level, use 5-a xis CNC or precision tools machining. To ensure the each blades shape and size are same.
2. Cooling system should be same: A reasonable layout of the cooling water channels can ensure that all blades cool and contract at the same rate, effectively preventing imbalance caused by warping deformation.

Material: different material for the blade fan will have different performances
1. PA66+GF:It features high strength and excellent heat resistance (able to withstand over 130°C for a long time), and after being reinforced with glass fiber, it has outstanding creep resistance, achieving a perfect balance between cost performance and performance.
PPS:It has superior heat resistance (220°C+) and chemical resistance, making it suitable for more demanding working conditions.

Mold Steel: The foundation of blade fan mold longevity and precision
The choice of mold steel directly affects mold life and production costs.
Core considerations: Wear resistance (resistance to fiberglass abrasion) and corrosion resistance.
Common steels:
1. 718H (Pre-hardened steel): Economical and practical, good machinability, suitable for medium-volume production.
2. S136 (Corrosion-resistant mirror steel): High wear resistance, high corrosion resistance, excellent polishing performance, the first choice for achieving mass production of over one million cycles and ensuring high product surface quality.

Summary: The creation of a high-quality fan blade is the result of the synergy of balance, plastic, and steel:
Balance is the goal of design and manufacturing.
Plastic determines the performance boundaries of the product.
Steel lays the foundation for the mold's lifespan and precision.

Only with the perfect coordination of these three elements can a "quiet blade" be created, stably protecting the engine compartment.
