This years, PET material molds are very popular in the market. More and more products are made by PET materials, such as basket, drawer, tissue box, box, plate, cap. water filter, etc.
PET material is a tough synthetic material that belongs to the thermoplastic family, and it is called “safe” material , as it is shatterproof and will not cause injury if broken or damaged.
To make a PET material mold, here are our suggestions:
1.you need to have one PET barrel injection machine or PET special barrel could change on your current machine.
2. PET plastic need to be dried before injection;
3.the cooling system on mould must be good and even;
4.the wall thickness of PET products is 1.8-3.5mm;
5.the injection gate is hot runner big gate, pin valve gate,cold runner;
6.the mould cavity and core steel is H13, S136, NAK80, or at least 718H with chrome plating;
7.the cooling around the injection gate must be very good
If your PET material mold product thickness is too thick, then the surface will have sink mark. So if you do not know which thickness is better for your product, you could send your inquiry sample to us. We will supply a suitable thickness to you.
Why need to use at least 718H with chrome plating? Because of most customer make PET material mold to produce the high transparent products. And with long time use, SC45/P20/718 mold surface will be abrasion.
