Advantage and disadvantage of basket mold different gate

Before make basket mold quotation, we will ask the customer which injection system do they want to use. Normally , the customer will choose hot runner or cold runner, but these two gates have advantage and disadvantage.
For the cold runner, there are some advantages: 1.The mold costs is cheaper than other gates 2. simple structure.But this gate also have some disadvantages:1. the cooling time will 5-10s longer than others 2. It is have long tail--gate waste material, need to cut down 3.The gate have big mark.
The hot runner advantages: 1. save the raw material 2. improve automotive 3.reduce the cycle time 4. do not need to use three plate mold and could use pin point gate 5. could use side gate to produce 6. product surface looks nice 7. the multi cavity products quality are same.
But there also have some disadvantages:1. costs will higher than cold runner 2. structure will more complex 3.maintain costs will higher 4.It takes a period of time for the process to be stable after starting up, resulting in more waste products at the beginning.
