Have you heard over-molding mold?
Over molding mold: The product was made from two materials. One is for hard material, such as PP, ABS,PC,PS,PA,POM,etc; the other is for soft rubber material, such as silica gel,TRU,TPR,TPE,etc.
You could use P20/S136/718/H13/NAK80/2738/1045 as hard material mold steel, H13/S136 as soft rubber mold steel.
Hard material products will be produced first, and then put on the corresponding position of the soft rubber mold. After second injection, the over molding product will came out.
For the over molding mold design, you need to make the hard material mold and a whole basin mold, as the hard part mold will put on the soft rubber mold and inject together.
There have some advantage and disadvantage for the over molding mold:
Advantage:do not need double color injection machine
Disadvantage:Not suitable for precision injection molding products, process cycle is long, the production efficiency is low.
