Plastic spoon mold thickness.

Spoon molds are having good market, as the spoon is a fast sale products. And most spoon are in transparent color, so we always will make the mirror polish for the mold.
Most customer will use PP as material, then it is could use P20,718,H13,S136,etc steel as mold steel; but also have some customer will choose PS, as PS material is more transparent. If use PS, it is better to use H13/S136. Because we will make the mirror polish on the surface, with a long time use, if not use S136/H13, the surface will be wear.
Recently, we have received many quotation for the spoon mold, but most customers are need to reduce their spoon weight to make his spoon have a good market. Actually, spoon mold is a thinwall mold, the thickness is thinner than other household, Therefore, we do not recommend customers to reduce weight without changing the size and shape. And only reduce the thickness the strength of the spoon is not enough. The spoon thickness is more thin, the mold is not easy to demold.
If you want to reduce the spoon weight, the thickness is not less than 0.8-1,then the spoon might could reduce the weight (0.1-0.3g). But the details weight still need to check after we made the product design.
We have made a spoon and customer need to reduce the weight about 0.1-0.2g. Due to their thickness is not very thin,and to keep the strength of the spoon, we made the middle of the spoon head more thicken. Then the spoon strength is well, and the weight have meet our customer requirements.
